There’s going to be some weirdness going on for the next half hour or so while I update this technical minded mess of mine to WordPress 2.7-hemorrhaging (yup, that’s what they call the trunk builds of the version 2.7).
I purposely updated from 2.6.2 to an older revision of 2.7 in order to test the new “core” upgrade feature included in this new upcoming, radically changed version of WordPress. One that (hopefully) will successfully update itself via the touch of a link in the footer of your Admin. Of course, I have to deactivate the “Maintenance Mode” plugin in order to do this as I’m not yet sure if the WP core “auto update” deactivates plugins during the upgrade process. I’m going to give it every chance to succeed mainly because I don’t want to manually recover the thing if the upgrade fails.
By the way, I published this little gem of a post from the QuickPress editor that lives on the 2.7 Dashboard. Kinda cool little thing for quickie types posts.
Here we go…
Update: Well, that was easy. And it seems that deactivating the plugins beforehand was a wise thing since I didn’t see anything in the upgrade dialog that stated anything about plugins. Of course, I may be wrong since I haven’t actually asked any specific questions about the actual upgrade process as of yet but I intend too. All in all though, it seems to upgraded to the next trunk build flawlessly.
More on WordPress 2.7 later.
